Laser Applications
Lasers can be used in dermatology both in the treatment of skin diseases and in the rejuvenation of the skin while managing the healthy aging process.
Alma Lasers Harmony XL PRO that I use in our clinic is a highly effective laser device that can treat different aesthetic problems and skin diseases and has over 65 FDA-approved uses.
We can treat skin problems of all age groups, from teenagers to older adults.
The system has several treatment modalities:
DyeVL treatment module:
Harmony XL PRO's Dye-VL module is based on patented AFT™ technology, an advanced form of IPL technology.
Instead of delivering a pulse with multiple wavelengths that are outside the therapeutic range, AFT technology converts unused UV light into the optimal spectrum for more effective treatment. This energy is then channeled into a pulse of equal fluidity. Thus, energy with controllable peak power is transmitted throughout the entire pulse. This technology minimizes the risk of side effects as it prevents the uncontrolled peak power of energy. Efficient energy use provides greater safety and more effective results. Contact cooling simultaneous with pulses cools the skin during application and provides a comfortable, side-effectless treatment.
Main areas of use:
Sunspots
Freckles
Age spots
Melasma
Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation
Cafe au lait spots
Rosacea
Port wine
Hemangioma
Telangiectasias
Angioma
Poikiloderma
The 500-600 nm narrow band spectrum is the optimal range for hemoglobin absorption. Vascular lesions are targeted and treated effectively. High absorption by melanin is also effective in removing spots and pigmentation.
Clear Lift treatment module:
Clear Lift module is q-switched ND:YAG laser technology. In the ClearLift application, laser energy with a wavelength of 1064 nm is transmitted to the dermis. Laser energy creates microscopic damage in the lower layers of the skin and collagen denaturation occurs. The body's natural wound healing system comes into play, triggering the production of new collagen and elastin, and the skin tightens. Immediately after the application, brightening of the skin surface, balancing of skin tone and lightening of sunspots are noticed. ClearLift is one of the most preferred skin rejuvenation methods with its painless, comfortable and short application time. It does not require any special care before and after the application, the patient can immediately return to his social life. It can be used on all skin types.
Main Areas of Use:
Skin rejuvenation
Increasing skin elasticity
Treatment of fine lines and wrinkles
Neck lift
Tattoo removal
Pigmented lesion treatment
Melasma
Uneven skin tone
Skin sagging
Signs of photo aging
One of the most important advantages of the system is that it has the fractional Q-Switch Nd:YAG 5×5 mm shooting feature, which is not available in many q switch ND: YAG laser systems, and it is applied individually in five separate layers of the skin: -2,-1,0,1,2. is to provide employment opportunities. These tips offer the ideal solution for skin rejuvenation on the face, neck and décolleté.
Q-Switch ND:YAG laser removes black, blue and gray tattoos; With KTP, red tattoos are erased and superficial blemishes are treated.
Pixel ER:YAG treatment module
Erbium Yag Laser (Er:YAG Laser) is a new generation laser technology that operates at a wavelength of 2940 nm and creates damage by absorbing laser light from water molecules. It creates a controlled and safe tissue ablation (damage).
The most striking sentence of an article I like very much is this:
Laser skin renewal can be applied to healthy people of all ages.
In fractional laser treatment, the protected intact skin area around the microchannels opened by the laser light accelerates the healing process. It is also known as laser resurfacing and laser rejuvenation.
It balances skin tone and regenerates skin texture. It increases skin elasticity and moisture retention capacity of the skin. Thanks to increased collagen synthesis, pores tighten. It is effective in the treatment of fine and thick wrinkles, acne scars, superficial blemishes, scars and burn scars. This is the laser system used primarily in non-surgical eye contour aesthetic applications.
Why Erbium Laser?
Carbon dioxide lasers, another ablative laser system, are also used for skin resurfacing. Despite their excellent results, the post-laser process is not easily tolerated by every patient, and due to the risks of prolonged redness, pigmentation disorders (light or dark tone changes), and permanent scarring, certain skin rejuvenation processes are often used. It can be used in selected patient groups. Another skin resurfacing laser system, the 2940 nm Erbium:ytriumaluminumgarnet (Er:YAG) laser system, is at the service of dermatology as a new technology to minimize these difficulties of carbon dioxide lasers in the skin resurfacing process and to aim for short recovery period and tolerability.
Main Areas of Use:
Skin renewal and increasing skin elasticity
Correcting skin tone irregularities
Wrinkle treatment
Keratosis
Spot treatment
Scars
Eliminating sagging and increasing skin firmness
